San Jose: Motorcyclist dead following crash with suspected DUI driver

SAN JOSE A motorcyclist died early Saturday morning following a fatal collision from a driver suspected of operating under the influence according to the California Highway Patrol The motorcyclist was a -year-old male according to CHP His identity has not been distributed The driver of the wagon is a -year-old male who sustained minor to moderate injuries and was transported to the hospital The episode happened around a m when CHP was notified of a crash involving a a bicycle and motorcycle near the connector of U S Journey and Interstate Preliminary investigations revealed a white Cadillac Deville was traveling northbound on US- at an unknown speed The motorcyclist was stopped on the right shoulder fueling up the motorcycle The driver allowed the motorcyclist to stray from a direct program of passage and the wagon left the roadway to the right The front of the Cadillac then crashed into the motorcycle leaving the -year-old with fatal injuries After crashing into the motorcycle the Cadillac returned to the roadway crossed all lanes of traffic and crashed into the center divide concrete wall The driver was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and placed under arrest according to the CHP This inquiry is advancing and ongoing CHP is asking observers or persons with information about this crash are petitioned to contact their San Jose Office at -
