One arrested, another on the run after chase through East Bay, officials say
California Highway Patrol officers chased a woman and man in a gold Lexus through several East Bay cities Friday before arresting the woman The man however got away on foot officers commented Just after p m on Friday in Oakland the Lexus was identified as suspicious after connecting the car to a released theft a CHP spokesperson reported Saturday The CHP initiated a chase of the Lexus which was occupied by a man and woman across several interstates The duo traversed across parts of Interstate Highways and according to the CHP Video of the chase shared by KTVU appeared to show the driver of the bicycle swerving into oncoming traffic during the pursuit to avoid an officer KTVU also announced the driver appeared to movement through areas near Oakland Hayward Dublin Pleasanton San Leandro San Lorenzo and San Ramon during the chase A Contra Costa Sheriff s helicopter reportedly relieved a CHP helicopter halfway through the chase because it had to refuel mid-pursuit The individuals who government have not yet identified reportedly fled to San Ramon before getting out of the truck and trying to escape on foot Officers arrested the woman but the man allegedly managed to escape capture near the block of Calvert Circle the CHP disclosed CHP officers reportedly deployed several spike strips throughout the pursuit but the persons were able to avoid them representatives mentioned Police continue to search for the unidentified male patron and the research remains open according to the CHP
